Director General of Ports and Maritime Authority f Guilan Province, referring to the dredging of Roga Shanbe-Bazaar in Bandar Anzali by this organization, said: "Due to not dredging during the last forty years and mud settlements for various reasons, we are facing the accumulation of more than 60,000 cubic meters of mud."
According to the public relations of
the Ports and Maritime Authority f Guilan Province, Dr. Hamidreza Abaie stated
on the sidelines of dredging Roga Shanbe-Bazaar in Bandar Anzali that in order
to interact with the city and port and in line with social responsibilities, the
Ports and Maritime Authority f Guilan Province dredged mud from the estuary of
the river by barge and shovel method. He continued: “With the coordination of
the Department of Environment, Municipality, City Council and Anzali
Governorate, and with the follow-up and assistance of the esteemed
representative of Anzali Port, we were able to take the necessary measures for
dredging 900 meters from the length of this canal to a depth of 3 meters.”
Referring to
the high volume of mud in this area, he added: "Considering that 30 to 40
years have passed since the last dredging of this Roga and the mud settlement
has increased significantly for various reasons (including the entry of
municipal and industrial wastewater), in this project, we are facing the
accumulation of more than 60,000 cubic meters of mud.”
Stating that we
are looking to create conditions that can without disturbing the movement of
boats and people's livelihood, using various dredging methods and taking
advantage of the facilities of local companies active in this field, take the
necessary measures, Director General of Ports and Maritime Authority f Guilan Province pointed out: “We first did this using barges
and long-arm excavators.”
Stating that we
are trying to speed up the completion of the project, Abaie said: "If we
continue to work in the same way, we can remove the dredging material from the
bottom of the river and create a suitable depth so that the water circulation
can be faster.”
It is worth
mentioning that the Ports and
Maritime Authority f Guilan Province in the past years and in order to interact between the
city and the port, has repeatedly dredged the waterways leading to Anzali Port
basin in very high volumes, while no other body or
organization has taken any action in this regard.
