In the meeting of the Director General of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province with the CEO of Anzali Free Zone, the development of bilateral cooperation was emphasized and the formation of a joint working group to prepare a comprehensive plan for Anzali and Caspian ports was on the agenda.
In this
meeting, on the creation of development programs, manufacturing and
knowledge-based industries, planning to use the
north-south corridor and transit issues, forming a joint working group to
prepare a comprehensive plan, creating a marine tourism line between Anzali and
Caspian ports, deployment of marketing teams of two organizations in ports and
efforts for the economic growth of the region were emphasized.
In this
meeting, the General Director of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan
Province stated that the supervision, safety and maritime governance is with
the Ports and Maritime Organization and continued: “The purpose of Ports and
Maritime Authority of Guilan Province is to accompany and help the Caspian port
and there is no competitive view.”
Referring to
the benefit of the existing export and import capacities of the two ports as
well as the new transit position in the international corridors, he pointed out:
“in the matter of the North-South corridor and the transit capacity created by
strengthening the infrastructure and interaction between the two ports, we can
play a prominent role in this sector.”
