1.       What kind of companies need to be licensed by the Ports and Maritime Organization (Ports and Maritime Authorities)?

2.       How do I apply for a license?

·         Visit the website of Maritime Freight Brokerage Companies Affairs at http://aca.pmo.ir and in the right part of the top of the page, select the registration menu and fill in the required fields and after completing them, submit it and then your request will be sent for review.

3.       How do I know if my request has been processed?

·      After the applicant has registered, the licensing expert will review the request. Whether the applicant's request is accepted or rejected, a message will be sent to the applicant's e-mail address. Also, the relevant expert will contact to the phone number announced by the applicant at the time of registration.

4.       How can I get more information on how to get a license for maritime freight Brokerage firms?

5.       What are the conditions for a CEO to obtain a shipping agency license?

·      General conditions of CEO

a.     Citizenship of Iran

b.    Being at least 25 years old

c.    Performing military service or permanent exemption from it

d.    Not working in government agencies, non-governmental public institutions as well as companies that more than 50% of their capital or shares belong to the mentioned authorities and do not have a similar position in other companies

e.    Familiarity with English

·      Professional conditions of CEO

a.    The CEO must have at least a bachelor's degree with four years of useful executive experience, an associate degree with six years of useful executive experience, and a diploma with eight years of useful executive experience in shipping services or shipping agency companies. It will be necessary to pass the relevant training courses according to the training instructions (port logistics) of the maritime freight brokerage companies of the Ports and Maritime Organization.

6.       W What are the conditions for a CEO to and the Board of Directors to obtain a license to operate in the areas of logistics, relief and rescue, equipment supply, ship inspection and lashing services?

·      General conditions of CEO of logistics, relief and rescue, equipment supply, ship inspection and lashing services companies:

a.       Being Iranian and resident in Iran

b.       Religious to one of the official religions of the Islamic Republic of Iran

c.       Being at least 25 years old

d.       Performing military service or permanent exemption from it

e.       No criminal record

f.        Not addicted to drugs

g.       Familiarity with English

h.       Having at least a bachelor's degree with three years of useful executive experience or a diploma with five years of useful executive experience in the requested field

i.         Not working in government-affiliated institutions and organizations under the auspices of the institutions and municipalities of the Islamic Republic of Iran

j.         Passing the relevant training courses according to the training instructions (port logistics) of the Ports and Maritime Organization.

·      General conditions of Board of Directors of logistics, relief and rescue, equipment supply, ship inspection and lashing services companies:

a.       Being Iranian and resident in Iran

b.       Religious to one of the official religions of the Islamic Republic of Iran

c.       Being at least 25 years old

d.       Performing military service or permanent exemption from it

e.       No criminal record

f.        Not addicted to drugs

g.       Not working in government-affiliated institutions and organizations under the auspices of the institutions and municipalities of the Islamic Republic of Iran

h.       Having at least a sixth grade education and sufficient experience of two years of valid work experience

·         General and professional conditions of the CEO of loading/unloading, counting, water supply, refueling, management of port terminals, pilotage, diving and container support technical services companies:

a.       Citizenship of Iran

b.       Being at least 25 years old

c.        Performing military service or permanent exemption from it

d.       Not working in government agencies and not having a similar position in other companies

e.       The CEO of the loading and unloading services company must have at least a diploma and four years of useful executive experience in the field of loading and unloading services or port affairs and have enough information on port operations and port and customs rules and regulations. It is also mandatory to take all related training courses.

f.        The CEO of the counting services company must have at least a diploma and four years of useful executive experience in the field of counting services or port affairs and have enough information on port operations and port and customs rules and regulations. It is also mandatory to take all related training courses.

g.       The CEO of a refueling services company must have a bachelor's degree with four years of useful executive experience, an associate degree with six years of useful executive experience, or a diploma with eight years of useful executive experience in port or maritime operations, as well as the necessary knowledge in the field of refueling operations, anti-pollution operations, port and maritime regulations, customs and safety and marine environment. It is also mandatory to take all related training courses.

h.       The CEO of a water supply services company must have a bachelor's degree with four years of useful executive experience, an associate degree with six years of useful executive experience, or a diploma with eight years of useful executive experience in port or maritime operations, as well as the necessary knowledge in the field of water supply operations, port and maritime regulations, customs and safety and marine environment. It is also mandatory to take all related training courses.

i.         The CEO of a port terminal management services company must have a bachelor's degree with four years of useful executive experience, an associate degree with six years of useful executive experience, or a diploma with eight years of useful executive experience in port terminal management services as well as the necessary knowledge in the field of port operations, port rules and regulations, customs rules and regulations, rules and regulations of free zones and port special economic zones and English Language. It is also mandatory to take all related training courses.

j.         The CEO of the Pilotage Services Company must have a bachelor's degree in marine science (seafaring) approved by the competent authorities, 4 years of executive experience in the field of maritime affairs or 2 years of experience in pilotage affairs. It is also mandatory to take all related training courses according to the instructions of brokerage firms.

k.       The CEO of a diving services company must have a bachelor's degree with four years of useful executive work experience, an associate degree with six years of useful executive experience, or a diploma with eight years of useful executive experience in the maritime field, as well as the necessary information and experiences.

l.         Conditions of the Director of the Coastal Workshop: The Director of the Coastal Workshop must have at least a diploma with 5 years of experience in diving or maritime affairs and have a valid diving certificate issued by educational institutions approved by the Ports and Maritime Organization and also have the necessary experience in this regard. It is also mandatory to take all related training courses according to the instructions of brokerage firms.

7.       What kind of work experience is a useful work experience?

·         Useful work experience is work experience that has the following conditions:

a.       Government or government-affiliated institutions approve work experience

b.       The private sector with the approval of the Social Security Organization

c.       Institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran

d.       Work experience in the field of the requested activity
