An introduction to the Port and Maritime Brokerage Companies Affairs

In accordance with the Iranian Maritime Law, Iranian Port By-laws and Approvals of the Supreme Council for Coordination of Maritime Transport and the Ports and Maritime Organization, Department of Corporate Affairs shall issue licenses for the relevant activities in accordance with the following by-laws:

1-      By-laws on the Establishment of Maritime Transportation Brokerage Companies and Institutions approved by the Supreme Council for Coordination of Transport;

2-      By-laws on licensing and how to operate of Shipping Agencies;

3-      By-laws on licensing and how to operate of Container Support Technical Services Companies;

4-      By-laws on licensing and how to operate of Counting Companies;

5-      By-laws on licensing and how to operate of Loading and Unloading Services Companies;

6-      By-laws on licensing and how to operate of Pilotage Services Companies;

7-      By-laws on licensing and how to operate of Port Terminal Management Companies;

8-      By-laws on licensing and how to operate of Water Supply Companies;

9-      By-laws on licensing and how to operate of Refueling Companies;

10-   By-laws on licensing and how to operate of Diving Companies;

11-   By-laws s on how to grant licenses for port, maritime and shipping services to a branch or agency of a foreign company;

12-   By-laws on how to grant licenses for port, maritime and shipping services to a branch or agency of a foreign company (Latin).

This department, which is in charge of affairs related to brokerage companies in Guilan Province  (public, private and cooperative), is responsible for the following tasks:

1-      Collecting documents related to the establishment of companies and institutions of maritime transport brokerage;

2-      Review the documents obtained and comment on their approval or disapproval;

3-      Continuous inspection and monitoring of companies' activities by visiting their offices;

4-      Issuance of primary-secondary activity license and renewal of activity license of companies whose head office is registered in Guilan province;

5-      Carrying out the necessary steps for issuing activity licenses and correspondence for issuing licenses by the central organization;

6-      Obtaining the annual performance report of the companies along with their rial-currency recoupment account in relation to the port;

7-      Respond to correspondence from the central organization, companies and relevant institutions;

8-      Implement the relevant instructions and By-laws;

9-      Collaborate on policy-making in corporate affairs and participation in relevant meetings.
