The Director General of Gilan Ports and Maritime Administration said in a statement that the best investor will be selected for Bandar Anzali Marina project. He stated that "Those who intend to invest in the area will benefit from special conditions such as tax breaks, non-payment of duties and non-payment of common permits in the country, which greatly helps attract tourists to Guilan province".
According to the Public Relations Department of
the Guilan Ports and Maritime Administration, Dr. Hamid Reza Abaie said in an
interview that one of the goals of the Ports and Maritime Organization is to
promote tourism industry in Guilan province. He said: "With the expansion of the
Anzali Free Zone Organization, we have defined 9 hectares of its lands –including
4 hectares of offshore lands and 5 hectares of marine lands in the western part
of new breakwater – as the Marina or Marine Tourism Area of Anzali, which will help
develop tourism industry in the province."
Emphasizing the special support of the investors
in the Anzali Free Zone, he said: "Those who intend to invest in this area will enjoy special conditions such as tax
breaks, non-payment of duties and non-payment of common permits in the country,
which greatly helps attract tourists to Guilan province."
Director General of Guilan Ports and Maritime
Aministration, acknowledging the need to make the best use of the four hectares
of land to attract tourists, stated: "Bandar Anzali has good potential for
development in various areas and we can help attract tourists to Bandar Anzali
by building coffee-shops, restaurants, maritime museums and conference halls on
these four hectares of land."
Referring to the efforts to attract marine
tourists to marine lands at the new Western breakwater, Abaie said:"Optimal use of five hectares of marine land will
greatly help attract marine tourists to Guilan province, so we are working to
build docks and yachts, create beach sports and marine recreation, and build seafood and
waterfront restaurants to attract tourists."
Announcing the number of investors attracted to
Anzali Port, he added: "We need
to make sure that the interested companies have the necessary funding, their designs
are part of international projects, have specialized personnel and do not cause
problems for the public during execution and operation. We are currently
identifying such investors."
Director General of Guilan Ports and Maritime
Administration believes that activities of sea travelers are complementary to
maritime tourism and said: "We need to provide conditions for investors to
use our facilities for development of marine tourism projects and to use Anzali port international terminal for sea trips to Caspian Sea littoral states and ensure that people also
can take advantage of these potentials and facilities. Unfortunately, this
infrastructure has not been used properly so far."
Emphasizing that native forces of Guilan province
will be hired to do these activities, Abaie stated: "Marine activities are specialized and should be done by
specialist forces, but we try to use native forces in some areas where there is
no need for specialized forces because it creates employment."
