The Director General of the Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province announced an 11% increase in the export of non-oil goods in the ports of Guilan province in 1398 and announced: "increasing and accelerating the process of loading and unloading and export of basic goods in 1399 is on the agenda of the ports of this province."
Hamid Reza Abaie, Director General of Ports and Maritime Authority of
Guilan Province, stated: "I pray to God that with the arrival of the New
Year, the spirit of freshness and vitality will be breathed into the lives of
all Iranians and I asked God for health, happiness and increasing success for
all Iranian people."
Pointing out that more than 80% of the world's goods are transported
through the ports, he noted: "our beloved country also conducts most of
its trade through the sea."
Noting that the maritime transport industry has a significant role to play
in the sustainable development of the world's countries, Abaie said: "the
importance of the sea and its impact on today's economy and life is undeniable.
We thank God that in the second year of sanctions, the country's needs have
been met through maritime transportation without interruption and with the strength
and power."
The Director General of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province,
referring to the referring to the position of Anzali Port which is located in
two international corridors of goods transportation, including North-South and
Trasica, stated: Anzali Port, as the oldest and most significant port on the
southern shore of the Caspian Sea, has always been considered as an important
port for traders, merchants and shipping lines in northern Iran."
Regarding the most important maritime and port activities in Guilan
province in 1398, he said: "construction of a grain wharf (General Cargo)
and 2 fuel dolphin wharf posts for mooring ships up to 180 meters long,
investment contract for the construction of 30,000 tons grain silos in Anzali
Port Complex for 404 billion rials, annexation of 40 hectares of land on the
eastern side of Anzali Port Complex to the Anzali Free Trade-Industrial Zone, obtaining
customs code of Astara Port Special Economic Zone, preparation of a 10-year
contract for the transfer of port operations to a single operator, merging the
active forces of the three companies into one company, and the development of
port infrastructure using the opportunities created and coordination with
customs to clear goods are some of the actions of Ports and Maritime Authority of
Guilan Province during the last year."
Stating that the Ports and Maritime Organization has made the interaction
between the city and the port as one of its duties, Abaie said: "conscientiously,
we considered it our duty to provide some of the equipment shortage of Shahid
Beheshti Hospital in coordination with the CEO and Board Members of the Ports
and Maritime Organization. In this regard, five artificial respiration devices
(ventilators) for equipping the ICU and 15 fully advanced monitor devices for
Anzali and Astara hospitals with a credit of more than one billion and 400
million tomans were purchased and donated. Now, once again, in coordination
with the Ports and Maritime Organization, we are trying to help the province's
medical staff."
Stating that during the last year, the loading and unloading of goods in
the country's commercial ports has increased by 6 percent and non-oil imports
by 24 percent, the Director General of the Ports and Maritime Authority of
Guilan Province said: "Last year, the export of goods in the ports
of the province shows a significant growth. Despite the oppressive US sanctions
against Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of maritime trade, 1.9 million
tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in the ports of the province last year.
In the field of exports, the ports of Guilan province have grown by 5%. In this
regard, it can be said that the ports of Guilan have the ability to accommodate
all ships carrying goods in the Caspian Sea."
Referring to the actions of the Ports and Maritime Organization in line
with the slogan of the year, he said: "in the year of production leap,
3600 billion tomans will be allocated to the country's maritime industries to
provide the operational fleet of the Ports and Maritime Organization. In this
regard, I would like to thank the Minister of Transportation and Metropolitan Development
and the CEO of the Ports and Maritime Organization for their appropriate and
efficient efforts and policies."
Regarding the most important goals and programs of the Ports and Maritime
Authority of Guilan Province in 1399, Abaie said: "conducting additional studies on the project of the port access road to Anzali Port bypass
and the country's railway network as well as the creation of rail support lands
in the vicinity of the Anzali belt road and Anzali Port Railway Station, follow-up
and re-launch of the national pipeline to transport fuel on the
Anzali-Rasht-Tehran route and connect it to the new dolphin piers, dredging and
construction of sediment traps in Anzali Lagoon, beautification and promotion
of maritime and port culture in line with the city-port interaction plan, intelligence
and optimization of systems and equipment installed on land and sea equipment,
reviewing investment contracts, and taking advantage of the capabilities of the
private sector in establishing and operating facilities for the construction
and repair of recreational and commercial vessels are some of the most
important goals of 1399."
The Director General of the Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province
continued: "following up the process of implementing investment
contracts to provide the required infrastructure for the port, attracting
investors to build a marine tourism center in Anzali Port Complex ,attracting investors in the value-added industries in Anzali Port Complex, development of electronic systems and implementation of intelligent
programs to improve the level of prevention and combating pollution of the
marine environment through maneuvers, increasing the productivity of
the province's ports by developing maritime culture and improving the services, completion
of Guilan province's water radio coverage, centralized
inspection of convention and non-convention vessels, updating and
upgrading the level of readiness of the province's traffic lights and
navigation aid marks, collaborate with the Grain Organization to speed up the
process of loading, unloading and transport the basic goods in the form of
inward transit, increase the volume of unloading the basic goods by exploiting
the infrastructure built by investors, and overhaul of equipment and purchase
the required equipment for loading and unloading operations are among the important
port and sea programs in Guilan province during this year."
Stating that the amount of rainfall in Anzali Port and Guilan province is
very high and in the rainy days, the speed of loading and unloading of the grains
will be very slow, he continued: "we intend to use the capacities of Anzali
Port during the rains so that we can have terminals for all seasons. These
terminals have been set up all over the world and are currently considered as
one of the main issues in Anzali Port."
