The Deputy of Engineering and Infrastructure Development of the Ports and Maritime Organization, referring to the construction, installation and commissioning of the "Ship Quick Release System" using Domestic Potentials in Anzali port, said: "construction of this system has resulted in a 60% foreign exchange savings for the country compared to using the similar foreign system".
According to the Public Relations of the Ports
and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province, on the morning of Tuesday, June 23,
"Mohammad Reza Allahyar", Member of the Executive Board and Deputy of
Engineering and Infrastructure Development of the Ports and Maritime
Organization, visited the infrastructure and capabilities of Anzali Port
Complex.
On the sidelines of the visit, referring to
the installation of a "Ship Quick Release System" in Anzali port,
Allahyar told reporters: "Anzali port has good operational potential due
to the traffic of ships carrying petroleum products and also the existence of a
dolphin wharf, but one of the requirements for the safe operation of these types
of wharfs is the use of Quick Release system, i.e. a quick release system to
moor the ship in an emergency situation".
Stating that in the past, we were 100%
dependent on foreign countries for this issue, he added: "in order to take
advantage of this capability, we had to import all this equipment from abroad.
Fortunately, a high level of expertise has been created in knowledge-based
centers. One of these centers has announced its readiness to build this system,
and thus, with the support of the Ports and Maritime Organization, this
equipment will be built at a much lower cost than its foreign counterpart in
the country.
Deputy of Engineering and Infrastructure
Development of the Ports and Maritime Organization, referring to the
installation of this system in Anzali port complex as a pilot installation,
said: "construction of this system in the country with the help of local
experts is a great honor for the country and we hope to use this system in
other ports in the near future".
Saying that the Ports and Maritime
Organization was encouraged to use the capacity of these knowledge-based
companies to build other necessary equipment in the field of dolphin wharves
and specifically "mobile loading arms" in order to become
self-sufficient and end its dependence on foreign countries, he continued:
" We hope that by taking advantage of the
specialized power of knowledge-based centers in the year of "production
leap" and relying on the resistance economy, dependence on foreign
countries will be reduced".
Allahyar pointed out that 12 Ship Quick
Release Systems have been purchased and installed for oil and gas berths (i.e.
six for each dolphin berth), and said: "these systems are capable of
withstanding of 75 tons of cargo".
Referring to some of the features of this
system, he acknowledged: "this system has the ability to connect to the
loading arm (arm pipelines for loading and unloading petroleum products) which
is separated simultaneously in case of fire and danger".
This member of the executive board of the
Ports and Maritime Organization reminded: "construction of this system has
resulted in a 60% foreign exchange savings for the country compared to using the
similar foreign system".
