On the occasion of September 28, Fire and Safety Day, in the presence of the Director General of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province and his deputies, the firefighting and safety staff of th Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province were honored.
According to the public relations of the Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province, on the morning of Monday, September 28, Dr. Hamid Reza Abaie , Director General, stated among the firefighters and safety staff: "This day is named after the firefighters who bravely put out the fire in the imposed war, on September 29, 1980, after an airstrike on the Abadan refinery, and were martyred in another airstrike."
He added: "Throughout history, we have witnessed the bravery and sacrifices of firefighters throughout the country, and firefighters and port security personnel are no exception to this issue, and we have seen many times how they try to save the lives and property of compatriots during accidents and sacrifice their lives. "
Abaie appreciated the efforts of firefighters during the outbreak of the Corona virus and also during the snowfall: "During this period, we tried to serve the people day and night and tried to have the most relief and also snow removal. Also, in the outbreak of the Corona virus, we provided equipment to many cities and disinfected the roads and in these two periods, firefighters and safety personnel played an important role."
The Director General of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province, stating that maneuvers and training sessions should be held for firefighters and safety personnel, clarified: "To increase awareness, every person in any position and responsibility should have training and practice to update his knowledge. In this regard, holding maneuvers and training classes will help improve the awareness, safety and operational knowledge of firefighters and safety personnel in the event of fire and possible accidents."
