The Minister of Roads and Urban Development, on the sidelines of a visit to Anzali Port, referring to the antiquity of the Anzali Port Complex, said: "The 53% growth in the performance of Guilan ports promises the development of the country's port activities."
Mohammad Eslami, Minister of Roads and Urban Development, told
reporters at noon on Tuesday, November 17, on the sidelines of the inauguration
and operation of 11 projects of the Anzali Port Complex, in front of reporters,
referring to the antiquity and prominent role of Anzali port in the country's
trade relations, he said: “the policy of the Ministry of Roads and Urban
Development and the Ports and Maritime Organization is to create investment
opportunities for the private sector, strengthen and develop infrastructure in
the country's ports.”
He said that the infrastructure of Anzali Port has been developed,
adding: "Last year, three berth posts were opened, and today, one general
cargo grain berth post and two oil berth posts were put into operation."
Referring to the addition of new and up-to-date equipment in Anzali
Port and the investment of nearly 200 billion Tomans by the private sector and
the Ports and Maritime Organization in this port, Eslami said: “53% growth in
the performance of Guilan ports promises to develop the country's port
activities.”
He pointed to the measures taken by ports and
shipping to create investment attractions for traders and continued: "launching a refrigerated container shipping line
that runs directly from Anzali port to the Caspian ports - as one of the basic needs
of traders to transport fruit and leeks - were among the most effective measures
taken in this port.”
The Minister of Roads and Urban Development,
stating that these executive activities are carried out in order to be able to
expand the logistics and equipment capacities of Anzali port, said: “the berth
posts are currently sufficiently developed.”
He continued: "We have memoranda of
understanding with the Caspian Littoral States that can accelerate trade
facilities and transit exchanges, and fortunately, necessary political and
executive foundations have been laid."
