Deputy of Ports and Economic Affairs of the Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province, referring to the improving performance of ports in Guilan Province, said: “The loading and unloading performance of Guilan Ports in the first 9 months of this year exceeded the performance of the whole 12 months of the last year.”
According to the public relations of the Ports and Maritime Authority
of Guilan Province, Mohammad Mohsen Salimipour, referring to the proper and
growing performance of Anzali and Astara ports, stated: “The amount of loading
and unloading of goods in these ports in the first 9 months of this year is equal
to 1,184,000 tons and their container throughput is equal to 4,300 TEU, which
is exceeded the performance of these ports in 12 months in 1398.”
He added:"
In the first 9 months of this year, the amount of loading and unloading in
Anzali port complex was one million and 33 thousand tons and in the container
sector was 4100 TEU, which was equal to 38 and 59 percent growth, respectively,
compared to the same period last year."
Deputy of Ports and Economic Affairs of the Ports and Maritime Authority
of Guilan Province, referring to the performance of Astara Port Special
Economic Zone, said: “In this port, the amount of loading and unloading of
goods in the first 9 months of the year is equal to 151 thousand tons and in
the container sector is equal to 185 TEU which means 27% and 100% growth,
respectively, compared to the same period last year.”
Regarding the export and import of non-oil
goods, Salimipour acknowledged: “The performance of Anzali Port in the first 9
months of this year in the export of non-oil goods has increased by 48%
compared to the same period last year, most of which include construction goods,
agricultural products, minerals and chemicals.”
He continued: “the import of non-oil goods was
equal to 866 thousand tons, which means a growth of 36% compared to the same
period last year. Of this amount, 591 thousand tons were related to basic goods
and 211 thousand tons were related to wood and boards.”
Deputy of Ports and Economic Affairs of the Ports and Maritime Authority
of Guilan Province announced a 27% increase in the number of
vessels entering the port of Anzali in the first 9 months of the year compared
to the same period last year: “Astara Port Special Economic Zone, with the development
of suitable infrastructure and supply of port equipment and activities and
dredging operations, has a growing trend in these 9 months and has witnessed a
27% growth in loading and unloading of goods, 100% in container operations and
28% in vessels entrance compared to the same period last year. Also, it has
experienced a 46% growth in the import sector.”
Noting that despite the outbreak of the Corona
virus and the resulted restrictions and the imposition of harsh sanctions
against Iran, the ports of the province have had a good and upward performance,
Salimipour stated: “Carrying out marketing activities and operational and
executive planning in the field of accelerating and facilitating the provision
of services and redoubled efforts of executive managers and employees of ports
and terminal operators and other private sectors while observing health
protocols has caused the performance of Guilan port to grow and these ports
play an important role, especially in meeting the needs of the market like basic
goods and cereals.”
He considered the future of Guilan ports very
bright and successful and said: "Undoubtedly, with the implementation of
future plans during the current year and next year in the field of supply,
purchase and reconstruction of equipment and operation of new investment
projects such as grain silos, tanks and upgrading the operational and
cross-border trade indicators, the performance of Anzali and Astara ports will
grow significantly.”
