The Director General of the Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan province, regarding the signing of an investment memorandum for the construction and operation of a ship construction and repair center in the Anzali Port Complex, said: “The investment in this sector will be about 1,400 billion Tomans.”

of Guilan province, at noon on Saturday, February 2nd, Dr. Hamidreza
Abaie stated on the sidelines of the signing of this memorandum: “This
memorandum was signed by the parties to establish a shipbuilding and repair
center. Construction and repair of ships such as cargo, service and passenger
vessels in accordance with the conditions of the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea
is one of the advantages of this center.”
Stating that
according to this memorandum, Tide Water Company will present its plans and feasibility
study report for the implementation and operation of this shipyard in Anzali Port
within three months, He expressed his hope: “With an investment of about 1,400
billion tomans in this sector, the capacities of this port will be realized and
we will see an increase in shipbuilding capacity in the Caspian Sea and a huge
job creation for Bandar Anzali city and Guilan province.”
Emphasizing that by using sustainable capacity, job creation
and earning income, we seek to stabilize our position in the province and the
Caspian Sea, Director General of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan
Province stated: “With the launch of this
shipyard, 250 skilled engineers will be directly employed. Also, by using the
capacities created in the port, indirect employment will be created for a
thousand people.”
Abaie added: “the
justification plan, construction period, operation, contract duration and
investment amount should be seen in this memorandum to lead to the contract
within the next three months.”
Noting that the Ports
and Maritime Authority of Guilan province seeks to provide suitable conditions for the
construction of large commercial vessels, he added: "We have considered
large commercial vessels suitable for shipping in the Caspian Sea, which cannot
be built in any of the shipyards in the country and we need to move towards
building passenger, service and pleasure vessels that complement the tourist
marina.”
Abaie said that one of the
main issues on the agenda of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province,
which is being seriously pursued, is the use of the capacity of Guilan Province
to achieve sustainable development.”
The Director General of
Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province, emphasizing the role and
increasing activities of the Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province in
the Caspian Sea in the commercial shipping sector, said: " According to the studies, it was necessary for
ships with higher capacity to move in the Caspian Sea, and in order to reduce
the imposed costs and make the activities in the Caspian Sea economical, there
was a need to build large ships in the Caspian Sea.”
Abaie added: “about five hectares of land in Anzali Port Complex
will be handed over to Tide Water Company, which can be increased to 10
hectares to be a base for building ships with higher tonnage.”
It is worth mentioning, Hamidreza Abaie; Director General of
the Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan province and Davood Turkman; the CEO
of Tidewater Company signed a memorandum of understanding for the construction
and operation of a ship construction and repair center this afternoon.
This center has been
designed to repair the ships such as cargo, service and passenger vessels in
accordance with the conditions of the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea. The
purpose of creating, completing and developing commercial port and offshore
buildings, facilities and repair shops, as well as related tools and equipment,
is to create the necessary conditions for employment and support domestic work
and services and meet the needs of the Caspian region for shipbuilding and
repair center.

that this ceremony was held in the presence of the representative of the people
of Anzali in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Director General of the
Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan province, the CEO of Tide Water Company and also the CEO of the Caspian Shipping
Company.
