The Minister of Roads and Urban Development and the accompanying delegation visited the development project of the offshore terminal and railway dock of Astara multi-purpose port.
According to the public relations of Ports and Maritime Authority
of Guilan Province, Mohammad Eslami, the Minister of Roads and Urban
Development, who had traveled to the Republic of Azerbaijan to pursue transport
diplomacy, on his the way back, while being informed about the implementation
process of Astara port development projects, was informed about the latest
measures in the field of maritime terminal, railway dock and equipment
investment of Astara port.
In this visit that Mohammad Rastad, Managing Director of the
Ports and Maritime Organization and Hamid Reza Abai, the Director General of
Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province was also present, in addition
to explaining the measures taken in order to dredge the port access canal and
provide a suitable water depth for mooring large ships, the issue of port
rights and tolls and the completion of the Astara port rail dock were also
pursued.
According to the report, Minister of Roads and Urban
Development, Mohammad Eslami entered the Nakhchivan region of the Republic of
Azerbaijan through the Jolfa land border yesterday and then traveled to Baku.
Visiting Jolfa border terminal and the roads leading to it,
visiting Ordobad railway station and Nakhchivan road and rail routes, visiting
Astara sea terminal and railway dock and meeting with Rashad Banyaf, the
Minister of Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was one of the plans of
the Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mohammad Islami, during his visit
to this country.
