According to the Public Relations Department of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province, Dr. Hamidreza Abaie issued a message congratulating the arrival of the National Day of the Caspian Sea.
The General Director of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan
Province has stated in this message:
In the Name of
God
At first glance, the National Day of the Caspian Sea is a treaty
between Caspian Sea littoral states, but it can be said it is a turning point
in the history of environmental cooperation in the Caspian Sea.
The largest lake of the world is a blessing
for its peripheral countries and having so much biodiversity and resources has
made it even more special.
The proximity of forests and pastures gives
another effect to this beautiful sea, which in addition to being eye-catching
has become a potential source for ecotourism, fishing, agriculture, as well as
shipping and trade.
Today, with the increase of illegal and
uncontrolled withdrawals from the land and sea resources of the Caspian Sea in
the neighboring countries, we are witnessing that its life has been eroded and
needs more support and protection.
I congratulate the 12th of August,
the National Day of the Caspian Sea, and hope that all the countries along the
Caspian Sea will take more steps to protect it so that their children and
future generations can also benefit from it.
Hamidreza Abaie
Director General
of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province
