The Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province secures the Ghazian Heritage Bridge in Bandar Anzali in order to interact of Port-City.
According to
the public relations of the Ports and
Maritime Authority of Guilan Province, on the afternoon of Monday, October 25, Dr. Hamidreza Abaie
stating the Ports and Maritime Organization, in cooperation with the Anzali
city administration, puts on the agenda the projects that will contribute to the
prosperity of tourism and the city, said: “Due to the interest of tourists and
people of Anzali to visit the old and heritage
bridge of Ghazian, Guilan Ports and Maritime Authority has considered the
reconstruction of this old bridge, which has decayed in the metal fences, to
prevent any accidents and problems.
He added:
"For this purpose, in a meeting with the representative of Bandar Anzali
people in the parliament, the mayor and chairman of Anzali city council and
representatives of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts
and Tourism, the conditions of Ghazian Bridge were examined."
The Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province pointed out: “Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan
Province intends to take immediate action to make this bridge safer by making
it safe and lightening its asphalt and reducing the pressure on this bridge.”
According to
him, the Ports and Maritime Authority of
Guilan Province will immediately start its effective action in this field after obtaining
the necessary permits from the Ports and Maritime Organization.
Ghazian
historical bridge in its time was one of the few advanced bridges in the world
of its kind and accordingly, it has been registered as one of the heritage
bridges of Iran under number 1514.
The
construction of Ghazian and Anzali bridges from reinforced concrete began in
late July 1935 and ended in the early summer of 1937. The moving part of the
bridge is moved up and down by gears with the help of engine or human force.
Anzali Port Complex
with a 300-year history in the field of maritime transport has always been a
region of interest to traders of the country and today with 17 berths and the
possibility of loading and unloading 10.5 million tons of goods per year is the
largest and most equipped Iranian port on the Caspian Sea.
This port
complex is one of the most important and long-standing ports in the north of
the country, which is located in international transit corridors such as
north-south and Trasica. This port complex has long played a leading role in
the maritime transport industry with the Caspian and European countries.
