Director General of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan province announced the launch of regular container shipping lines in the Caspian Sea and said: “According to planning, ships from the Anzali, Amirabad and Noshahr ports will travel to the ports of Astrakhan, Aktao and Makhachkala.”
According to the Public Relations Department of the Ports and
Maritime Authority of Guilan Province, referring to the launch of the regular
container shipping lines in the Caspian Sea, , Hussein Younesi said: "for
a long time, we have been looking for the establishment and operation of
regular shipping lines from the northern ports of the country to Astrakhan, and
many negotiations were held in this regard and continuous meetings were held
with the Caspian Sea Shipping Company."
He continued: The Caspian Sea Shipping Company has 23 ships, and
for this reason, the Ports and Maritime Organization requested a number of
related ships to operate in the container section of the country's northern
ports for regular traffic.
Referring to the advantage of informing and ensuring the goods
owners of the presence of ships in certain ports at a certain time, director
General of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan province stated: “when the
owner of the goods knows that the ships are present at a certain port on a certain
date, they transfer their export goods from different parts of the country to
those ports because they are sure of the existence of the ship, its movement
and the export of goods at a certain time.”
Younesi pointed to the approval of the Ports and Maritime
Organization and the Caspian Sea Shipping Company in order to launch container
liner services from the northern ports of the country and added: “until
now, there has been no such liner service in the northern ports, and this
incident will cause us to see an increase in the amount of goods traffic, and
as a result, we hope that the Caspian Sea Shipping Company will also increase
the number of ships in this direction.”
Pointing out that based on the presented timetable, we are
witnessing the start of regular container shipping lines from the northern
ports of the Caspian Sea, he said: “the container liner service activity will
initially start from 3 main ports including Anzali, Amirabad and Noshahr ports
and if there be enough containers, the two ports of Astara and Fereydoun Kenar
will be added as traffic origins.
Director General of Guilan Ports and Maritime Authority announced: “Astrakhan,
Aktao and Makhachkala ports are considered as destinations for container liner
lines.”
Pointing out that we hope that activists in the field of export and
transit will welcome the launch of regular container shipping lines, Younesi said:
“the Caspian Sea Shipping Company has requested to provide discounts, and for
this purpose, a working group is to be formed by the Ports and Maritime
Organization and provide discounts.”
