With the presence of the Director General and the deputies of the Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province, the media activists of the maritime sector of Guilan province were honored on the occasion of Journalist's Day.
According to
the public relations of the Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province, on
Wednesday, August 17, in the celebration
of Journalist's Day held in the meeting hall of the Ports and Maritime Authority
of Guilan Province, Hossein Younesi stated that journalists can help the
economic development of the province. He continued: “Journalist's Day is not
specific to one day and every day can be Journalist's Day, because according to
the wide range of events in the society, every day there is a new news and
challenge for journalists.”
Stating that
compassion, accuracy, commitment, expertise, awareness to the society are
characteristics of journalists, he added: “Journalism is an important and
sensitive job and accuracy in reflecting news is necessary for this activity.”
Director
General of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province, pointing out that
everyone, especially the officials, should be open to criticism, said: “I am
open to criticism and I welcome constructive criticism with all my heart, but
journalists should be careful in reporting the news because if the news is
wrong or if it is doubtful, it may cause problems for the society.”
Emphasizing
that the ports of Guilan province are one of the economic and employment
capacities, he stated: “Currently, 1,700 people are directly employed in the
ports of Guilan province, and we hope that we can give more economic prosperity
to these ports and see more employment in various
port and maritime areas of Guilan province and the country.
Younesi
continued: Transit is a new issue that has become more important in the
activities of the province's ports, and this issue is very important for the
province and the country, and in this regard, we are looking to strengthen the
transit infrastructure.
The Director
General of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province stated that Anzali
is located on the North-South Corridor and emphasized: “Anzali Port Complex is
the oldest port on the shores of the Caspian Sea with a long history and has
been the subject of special attention of economic activists and businessmen for
a long time.”
