Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development - Managing Director of the Ports and Maritime Organization - emphasizing that following the measures of the 13th government, the transit of goods through northern ports has grown by 177 percent and said: “in line with the government's approach to develop economic cooperation with neighboring countries, northern ports have prospered.”
According to the public relations
report of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province, Ali Akbar Safaei, on
the sidelines of the operation of 6 construction and development projects of
Anzali port with a credit amounting to 149 billion Tomans, stated: “With the
efforts made in the field of maritime trade, the transit of non-oil goods in
Anzali port has grown by 277% and the transit of oil goods in this port has
grown by 100%, which is due to the arrangements and planning of the 13th
government to develop cooperation with neighboring countries in the north of
the Caspian Sea.”
Stating that the growth of goods
transit in commercial ports has reached 177%, he emphasized: “At the current
stage, 7 ships are docked at Anzali port, 8 more ships are in the anchorage,
and 4 more ships are on their way to the said port. This shows the fulfillment
of the government's promises in the prosperity of northern ports.”
The Deputy Minister of Roads and
Urban Development, referring to the exploitation of Anzali Port's construction
investment projects, said: “With the investment of the private and public sector
(Ports and Maritime Organization), a total of 149 billion Tomans have been
spent for the construction and equipment development of Anzali Port.”
Referring to the use of 50,000-ton
grain silos for the proper and healthy storage of food in Anzali port, he said:
"One million tons of silos are under construction in all ports of the
country, these silos can become a distribution center for the whole
country."
The Managing
Director of the Ports and Maritime Organization, referring to the operation of
the coastal power supply project for the ships berthed in Anzali port, stated: “This
project will be operated for the first time and in line with the sixth chapter
of the MARPOL Convention to prevent air and noise pollution in Anzali port and
from now on, instead of using diesel generators, ships docked in
the port will use mild and appropriate electricity in the port for lighting and
other purposes.”
Referring to
the operation of the sailors' club in Anzali port, he said: "The sailors'
club was put into operation in line with the MLC convention and to create the
welfare and comfort of seafarers after a long period of seafaring."
According to
this report, the dredging of the first phase of the Anzali lagoon and the basic
repairs of the sports lawn of the soccer field are considered as another
construction project of the Anzali port, and with the opening of these
projects, job opportunities have been created for 236 people.
