The Director General of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province explained the latest status of the establishment of regular container shipping lines in the Caspian Sea and said: "Fortunately, we are witnessing an increase in the amount of traffic and transit of goods in Anzali and Amirabad ports after the establishment."
In an interview
with the information base of the Ports and Maritime Organization, about the
activity of regular container shipping lines in the Caspian Sea, Hossein Younesi
said: “After the launch of regular container shipping lines in the Caspian Sea,
we have seen an increase in the amount of traffic and transit of goods in
Anzali and Amirabad ports and fortunately, we are experiencing a growing trend
in this direction.”
He continued: “The
decision is to consider tariff exemptions for the Caspian Sea Shipping Company
from the Ports and Maritime Organization, and in this way we will see an
increase in the willingness of shipping lines to operate.”
Director
General of Guilan Ports and Shipping, pointing out that one of the success factors
of regular container shipping lines in the Caspian Sea is its continuity, said:
“regular container shipping lines in Anzali and Amirabad ports are in traffic
regularly, weekly and according to schedule. Fortunately, in this case, the
activities have been fruitful.”
Stating that
the activity of regular container shipping lines in the Caspian Sea will
increase the amount of traffic and transit of goods, Younesi said: “With the
regular operation of the lines, the owners of the goods move their goods
according to the schedule and can conduct their business activities in better
conditions.”
He continued: “Fortunately,
the activities in Anzali and Amirabad ports have been satisfactory for the
Caspian Sea Shipping Company, and it will definitely not be satisfactory for
the shipping company if it is not welcomed.”
Director
General of Ports and Maritime Authority of Guilan Province stated that the
Caspian Sea Shipping Company has prepared empty containers in Anzali port, and
noted that the category of goods transit is tied to the existence of
containers, and fortunately, the conditions of Anzali port are favorable in
this regard.
Younesi added: “We
should know that the conditions of Anzali port are favorable during the first 6
months of this year, and so far we have seen a 77% growth in its container
activity compared to the same period last year, and in addition, we are
experiencing a 277% increase in goods transit.”
It should be
noted that the activity of container liner lines has started from 3 main ports,
including Anzali, Noshahr and Amirabad ports, and if there be containers, 2
ports of Astara and Fereydunkanar will be added as the source of traffic and
based on planning, 9 ship will travel from the ports of Anzali, Noshahr and
Amirabad to the ports of Astrakhan, Aktau and Makhachkala.
